ERTH
Rest quietly surrounded by water on Erth
Erth is an historical, organic, ethical, wellbeing riverside retreat.
Our retreat, which sleeps up to 18, marries its medieval roots with a 21st century vision of offering the opportunity to live simply, wildly, immersed in the unspoilt natural landscape surrounded by wildlife .
Erths’ position, is elevated on Erth hill, with views from large granite mullion windows over the River Lynher that snakes around both its sides.
The movement of the tidal river breathes in and out twice daily bringing an ever-changing landscape and light.
This place is wild.
As soon as you drive onto the peninsula, you’re entering another world.
Wild flowers, buzzards, skylarks, swallows, geese, egrets, fallow deer in the oak filled woodlands, and owls in the trees at night call across the river…..
ERTH

From the moment we arrived at Erth the space spoke for itself, the light, the air, the land. There’s a quality to the place that’s genuinely hard to put into words, it must be felt.
It’s calm and welcoming, special and magical.
Shaun & Polly strike exactly the right balance: attentive without overwhelming.
If you’re looking for a retreat space that holds a group beautifully, with calm and soul and light, with hosts who truly care, Erth is your place.
Looking forwards to returning next year.

I had the most magical experience holding my retreat at Erth. You can feel the energy of the land as soon as you arrive — it is deeply cared for, alive and incredibly special.
Shaun and Polly are wonderful hosts with so much experience holding retreats and creating supportive spaces. Not only did I feel fully supported throughout, but my guests reported feeling especially nourished and safe.
I would highly recommend Erth to anyone looking for a place that offers both sanctuary and wildness, alongside a genuinely supportive environment from which to hold transformative work and retreats, or just come and stay!
Thank you so much to Erth — I will absolutely be back.

Erth is truly one of the most special places I’ve ever hosted a retreat. There’s a real care and attention that runs through the whole experience.
The setting itself is unlike anywhere else. Surrounded by nature, with a sense of space and stillness that you feel the moment you arrive, it creates an instant shift.
The biggest test of loving this place is booking two retreats at Erth in 2027!
Me and my guests are already so looking forward to coming back and welcoming some new faces.

Thank you for the most incredible retreat…
I just wanted to say thank you again for a wonderful stay at Erth - as you could probably tell we were reluctant to leave !
It’s such a special place and your hospitality was exceptional.
We’ll be back…in 2026 if you’ll have us !

The moment you crest the hill and Erth comes into view, you’ll understand why no photo truly does it justice — it has to be experienced. The landscape is expansive and lush, carrying a sense of peace that settles over you almost immediately. It is difficult to imagine a more magical and beautiful setting for a retreat centre.
Shaun and Polly are exceptional hosts who have clearly poured tremendous care and thought into every detail of the experience. The environment they’ve created strikes a rare balance — refined yet deeply comfortable, allowing guests to fully let go and truly retreat in every sense of the word.
I will definitely be bringing my yogis back. It is genuinely special.
